Sundergarh: Vigilance sleuths arrested a Gram Rojagar Sathi (GRS) red-handed while taking bribe from a Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) beneficiary in Kutra block in the district on Thursday.
The accused GRS has been identified as Hemant Pradhan. He was working in Purukapali panchayat.
The Vigilance Department swung into action after one Haramohan Pradhan of Purukapali village lodged a complaint against Pradhan with it, a few days ago. In his complaint he accused the GRS of demanding a bribe of Rs 1,200 to pass the final bill for his PMAY house.
Vigilance sleuths laid a trap and caught Pradhan while accepting the bribe amount from the complainant at the panchayat office in the morning.
