Bhubaneswar: Denizens were left in a lurch in the Twin City Cuttack and Bhubaneswar along with several costal districts this morning following a sudden outburst of rainfall accompanied by wind blow throwing the normal life out of gear.
The abrupt change of weather posed a tough time for school children who failed to reach their destination on time. Office-goers also faced difficulties in commuting as the rain intensified later in the morning.
While the IMD Regional Centre here issued a rain alert till 8.30 am for at least seven districts of the state including Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Khurda, Cuttack, Kandhamal and Kalahandi, the downpour receded after that.
The IMD has also predicted Nor’wester rain several western Odisha districts in next two days and advised the district administrations to remain in alert.
