Notably, the WNTD is being observed worldwide since 1987 every year to promote abstinence from all forms of tobacco consumption. Observed on May 31 the WNTD gets a new theme every year from the World Health Organisation (WHO) and this year’s theme is “Tobacco and Lung Health.”
This year’s campaign will centred around making people aware of the harmful effect of tobacco consumption on the lungs health and role of it in causing cancer and other respiratory complicacies.
