Sambalpur: Tension prevailed at Gangadhar Meher Junior College in the district after hundreds of students staged a demonstration protesting against transfer of eight facility members.
The agitating students locked the entrance of the college and took out a protest rally to the Collector’s office. The students alleged that the transfer of eight faculty members have hampered their studies.
“ The transfer of so many faculty members at a time has left students of Science, Arts and Commerce in a spot of bother. We will be facing the final examinations after five months and this will definitely hamper the studies. We demand cancellation of their transfer orders or else we will intensify the agitation,” said a student.
