Balangir: In a shocking incident, a pack of stray dogs were found feasting on a newborn’s body near Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital in Bolangir on Friday.
Some locals first spotted the incident in the morning and rushed to the spot to save the body from the canines. Later, they took the matter to the notice of the hospital authorities for necessary action.
After reaching the spot and intervening into the matter, the doctors succeeded in recovering only 20 percent of the infant’s body from the dogs for autopsy.
Meanwhile, the hospital authorities have started checking the patients’ register to ascertain the parentage of the newborn.
