Khordha: The Special Task Force (STF) has seized 52 kg of ganja from Mukundaprasad area in the Khordha district and held two accused persons in this connection.
The accused peddlers have been identified as Sudhir Lima of Tikamala under R Udayagiri police limits in Gajapati and Sk Akash of Bada Basti under Pipili police in Puri.
On the basis of reliable information against illegal possession of Narcotic Drugs, a joint operation was conducted by STF, BBSR, and Khordha near Khordha-Jatnai bypass overbridge in Mukundaprasad.
The team of officials has also seized other incriminating materials from their possession.
A case has been registered at Khordha Town Police Station for necessary legal action under section 20(b)(ii)(c)/29 of NDPS Act 1985.
The special drive against narcotic drugs is continuing. Since 2020, STF has seized more than 50 Kg of Brown Sugar/Heroin, 202 Gram Cocaine, and more than 92 quintals of Ganja/Marijuana and arrested more than 139 drug dealers/peddlers.
