STF Establishes Drug Peddler Sk Raja’s International Link

Bhubaneswar: The Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch has established international links of drug peddler Sk. Raja who was arrested by the agency on September 15.

Police said that they have found Raja’s link with drug mafias in Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan. “Our team will soon visit the countries as a part of further investigation into the drug business of the accused,’ said an official.  

The STF has arrested Raja from Khandagiri area in Bhubaneswar and had seized Rs 1 lakh cash, one pistol loaded with live ammunition, six mobile phones ATM cards and other incriminating materials from his possession.

Police said that they have so far traced movable and immovable properties worth Rs 2 crore of Raja. The properties include a flat worth Rs 1 crore and a three-storied building worth Rs 60 lakh.

“Besides we have traced three cars and a trawler worth Rs 30 lakh. The accused has purchased all the properties though the ill-gotten money earned from brown sugar peddling. We will soon move to the competent authority to attach the properties,” added the police official.
