Stage Set In Bhubaneswar For Men’s Hockey World Cup 2018
Bhubaneswar: The countdown has begun for the Men’s Hockey World Cup 2018- a global sports gala which is all set to kickstart in the next few hours. The 14th edition of FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup will be declared open through an elaborate inaugural ceremony at the Kalinga Stadium in the city this evening.
The Men’s Hockey World Cup will be a major event in the history of Odisha. The sports event is grand not just in term of the participating teams (i.e 16 ) but also in terms of the budget and grandeur. The Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik has been personally looking into the preparations to make sure that the Rs. 200 crore event is a grand success. Furthermore, Odisha is also using the opportunity to showcase the vibrant colours and cultural diversity of the state in order to promote tourism.
With just a few hours left for the inauguration ceremony, the excitement among hockey lovers is palpable. Bollywood stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit, AR Rahman and Ollywood actors Sabyasachi Mishra and Archita Sahu will add glamour to the opening ceremony. The tickets for all India matches have been sold out. Every person is cheering for team India and hoping that the team grabs the much-coveted Hockey World Cup this time.
