Srimandir Adarsh Gurukulam Society to be formed: SJTA

Puri: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) in Puri on Thursday informed that Srimandir Adarsh Gurukulam Society will be formed. A decision in this regard was taken during a meeting held by the SJTA this morning.

The Srimandir Adarsh Gurukulam Society will be formed under the SJTA and Puri King Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb will be the chairman.

Srimandir Adarsh Gurukulam Society fund will be formed for the development of the society which will come up at Matitola area of Puri. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) in this regard will also be signed with an organization.

The State government has reportedly sanctioned 17-acre of land for the same under the Augmentation of Basic Amenities & Development of Heritage and Architecture (ABADHA) scheme and will spend around Rs 20 crore.

It is to be noted here that the State government in February last year had approved the Srimandir Adarsh Gurukulam project for setting up the model school for the children of the servitors of Sri Jagannath temple.

The Srimandir Adarsh Gurukulam Society is aimed at imparting Vedic education along with the general courses to the kids of the servitors free of cost.
