Sri Lankan High Commissioner Appreciates Founder Of KISS And KIIT

Bhubaneswar: Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to India Austin Fernando today visited the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) and KIIT and advised students to prepare themselves to face the challenges of the future.

He said that education is the key to all development. “Tribal people are living in a state of deprivation. Only education can eradicate deprivation. So the tribal students should educate themselves to come out of poverty” said Fernando while addressing the students of KISS.

Fernando, his wife  Silviya Fernando and Achini Perera, Counsellor, Sri Lankan High Commission also visited various campus of KIIT and units of KISS. The High Commissioner also appreciated the work of Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT and KISS.

“Through KISS, he has proved that one man can also make a difference. He has proved it through KISS and set an example for others in the globe. Students should learn from him to give something back to their families, community, society, state and country. You should learn from him the qualities of humanity. You should develop yourselves as good human beings. You should not search for your role-model anywhere, because your role model is in front of you. He is none other than Mr Samanta”, he told the students. 

Several dignitaries including KIIT and KISS founder, Achyuta Samanta, R. N. Dash, Secretary, KIIT & KISS, Harekrushna Satapathy, VC of KISS Deemed to be University, P. K. Routray, CEO, KISS and H. K. Mohanty, VC, KIIT Deemed to be University were also present on the occasion.
