Kendrapara: Tightening the noose around the necks of illegal FMCG trade, police seized a huge cache of spurious tea and hair oil by raiding an authorised manufacturing unit in Kharadasahi village under Kendrapara Sadar police limits last night.
A team of Sadar Police carried out the rain by acting upon a tip-off which was received late in the night. During the raid spurious tea packets carrying Tata Tea name and duplicate hair oil bottles carrying Dabur Amla name were seized.
A good quantity of raw materials, packaging tools and foils were also seized from the unit during the raid.
Meawhile, police have launched a manhunt to trace the owner of the spurious FMCG goods manufacturing unit, who managed to escape from the spot.
