Dhenkanal: 286 bottles of spurious foreign liquor has been seized from Hatasahi situated in Kankadahada police limits of Dhenkanal district.
The Excise Department has seized a huge amount of duplicate stickers along with bar-codes. Each bottle was 180ml by volume.
An independent squad of the Excise Department had been formed for the operation.
Two people have been arrested in this connection. Laxmidhar Patra is the main accused and Prakash Patra is a worker, both belong to Kankadahada village.
According to the Inspector of Excise, district mobile squad, Sushree Sunita Mohanty, ” the accused were caught red-handed while making the spurious liquor from behind the Anganwadi centre near the forest.”
The accused have been booked under Sections 52 (a), 52 (i) and 55 (b) of the Odisha Excise Act.
Further investigations are on in the matter. The Department is looking for more people who are connected to this matter.
