Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate police have launched a special drive against narcotics in the state capital and have arrested 13 persons for peddling of brown sugar and ganja in last 48 hours.
Police have also seized brown sugar weighing 40 grams and ganja weighing more than 10 kilograms in nine separate cases.
Police have also arrested one Sibu Das, a known peddler who has eight cases pending against him in various police stations across the state capital.
“Most of the brown sugar peddlers claimed that they procured the contraband from Jaleswar in Balasore. We will also send a police team to Balasore for further investigation. The drive will be intensified,” said a police official.
