Speaker Of Odisha Pays Floral Tribute On The Occasion Of Bhubaneswar Foundation Day

Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar, the capital city of Odisha, celebrated its 73rd Foundation Day today. The first Prime Minister of India Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru had laid the foundation stone of the city on April 13, 1948.

Due to the surge in Covid cases, the foundation day was observed adhering to rules and restrictions.

Hon’ble Speaker Surjya Narayana Patro paid a floral tribute on the foundation stone of Bhubaneswar near Odisha Legislative Assembly at PMG square. Minister of Water Resources and I&PR Raghunandan Das and Director of I&PR Department Krupasindhu Mishra also attended the celebration.

In the year 1948, there were only 14,000 people in the city whereas now the population has increased up to more than one crore in Bhubaneswar.

The state government has set a goal for more developments in the capital city, said Hon’ble Speaker.
