Bhubaneswar: Good news for the people of Odisha, the much-awaited southwest monsoon has finally advanced into some parts of the State, informed the regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) here today.
The city-based regional centre of the IMD on its Twitter handle informed that the monsoon hit the southern parts of Odisha today.
The districts where the monsoon touched today are Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Malaknagiri, Koraput and Nabarangpur.
It is to be noted here the weatherman had earlier predicted that the monsoon would hit the State by June 15 or 16.
