Soumya Ranjan’s death case: Sonali Nanda demanded expensive car worth Rs 1 crore!

Bhubaneswar: Trouble mounts for singer Sonali and her mother as in a shocking development over in the death of aspiring model Soumya Ranjan Panigrahi, the mother-daughter duo had allegedly demanded an expensive car worth Rs 1 crore.

According to sources, after a case was registered against the mother-daughter duo, Sonali was interrogated by the police. Sonali had even said that she will leave Soumya if he does not gift her the car.

However, Soumya did not have enough funds to provide an expensive worth Rs 1 crore, it is being suspected that he was under continuous mental pressure and eventually committed suicide.

Sonali might be summoned for questioning again if needed, added sources.

Earlier on April 20, a case was registered against Sonali and her mother following the direction of the Orissa High Court. The mother-daughter duo were booked under Sections 306 (Abatement of suicide) and 34 of IPC.

The Orissa High Court also directed the Bhubaneswar DCP to take action in the case within three weeks.

Notably, Soumya Ranjan had committed suicide at his residence in Kalarahanga area of the State Capital City on January 30 over failed love affair with Sonali. A suicide note, was also found in his room, which stated that he ended his life after being betrayed by his girlfriend.

Infocity police also registered a case over Soumya Ranjan’s death based on the complaint filed by his family members.
