Bhawanipatna: In a bizarre incident, the family of a youth who died of snakebite roped in a sorcerer to resurrect the dead youth inside the morgue of Kalahandi District Headquarters Hospital.
However tension prevailed at the hospital after the sorcerer failed to resurrect the deceased identified as Satish Kumar Bhopal (21) despite performing witchcraft for around three hours inside the morgue.
Police said that the deceased, a resident of Tumerimunda village in Keshinga was first rushed to the Keshinga Community Health Centre last night after he was bitten by a venomous snake. The youth was later referred to the District Headquarters Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.
However, a high drama unfolded at the hospital as his father roped in a sorcerer to the mortuary to bring the dead back to life. Police later reached the hospital and brought the situation under control.
