Baripada: A youth strangulated his mother to death allegedly over family dispute at Rarua village in Mayurbhanj district on Saturday.
According to reports, one Makara Patra who was in an inebriated state, killed his mother Alamina Patra. The matter came to fore when some locals noticed Makara carrying the mortal remains of her mother for cremation. They informed the local police who arrived on the spot and arrested the accused.
Police are interrogating Makara to find out the reason behind the murder. Meanwhile, Alamina’s body has been sent for autopsy.
