Son Kills Father Over Petty Issue In Odisha

Keonjhar: In a shocking incident an elderly man was allegedly killed by his son in a village under Harichandanpur police limits in the district this afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Gopal Sahu. Villagers said that Gopal’s son Madan used to have frequent arguments with his father over petty issues.

“The son returned to his house in an inebriated condition for which he had a heated argument with his father. Enraged over this he assaulted his father with a spade leading to his death on the spot. He later dumped his body near the house,” said a police official.

The villagers later nabbed the son and assaulted him. The mob also tied him to an electric pole. Police have rescued the killer son and are currently interrogating him.
