Balasore: Police today arrested a youth for allegedly killing his father at Dangapita village under Baliapal police limits on June 25. Police said that property dispute was the motive behind the crime.
The victim Rakesh Chaudhury had died after being shot from close range. Police have arrested the prime accused Anuj Kumar Chaudhury who is the son of victim’s first wife.
Police said that the victim had a second marriage and used to stay at the village with his second wife for the past eight years. “The victim had sold his property at Uttar Pradesh and had earned Rs 20 lakh. However the son of his first wife used to demand a share in the sold property,” said a police official.
Anuj later roped ion two of his associates and travelled to Balasore with a car and killed his father. Police have also seized the firearm used in the crime along with the car.
