Malkangiri: Police have arrested a 23 year old for his involvement in a number of cyber fraud cases in the district and Odisha as well. The accused Supravat Mohapatra, a resident of Puri district has also links with cybercriminals in Jharkhand.
Police said that Mohapatra was also working with a reputed software company as a trainee. “He has a diploma degree in Hospitality Management and has also passed P.G Diploma in IT and Management. He was also working as IT manager with a renowned cement manufacturing company,” said a police official.
Police said that the accused was involved in six cases related to cyber fraud in Odisha. Police said that they are further verifying the antecedents of the accused.
Malkangiri police this year so far has settled six cyber fraud cases and recovered Rs 206194. Police said that the recovered amount has been refunded to the victims.
