Software engineer from Odisha arrested in Bengaluru on theft charges

Bengaluru: A software engineer from Odisha has been reportedly arrested in Bengaluru on theft charges. The arrested engineer has been identified as Raj Patra.

Bengaluru police has arrested Raj for stealing different electrical items worth Rs 35 lakh from a Bengaluru-based Engineering College, where he was working as a security guard.

During interrogation, cops came to know that the accused was involved in the robbery of computer hard disks from Biju Patnaik E-Learning Centre at the Vir Surendra Sai Institute of Technology (VSSUT) premises at Burla in Odisha’s Sambalpur district.

Meanwhile, a team of Sambalpur Police has left for Bengaluru to bring Raj on a remand and interrogate him over the loot case.

It is to be noted here that as many as 55 hard disks, processors and RAMs were stolen from the E-Learning Centre on August 11, 2021.
