Social media to be BJD’s weapon of choice in upcoming elections

Bhubaneswar: BJD is gearing up for upcoming elections and the party’s IT cell announced to strengthen the party’s reach through social media on Wednesday. This was announced Biju Chatra Janata Dal at the IT Conclave held at the party’s State Office. CM Naveen Patnaik was the chief guest of the event.

BJD IT cell said in an announcement that they will use social media to maximise their reach in masses. This will also be used to spread word of all the programs announced by the regional party

The program launched today was aptly titled ‘Mo Naveen, Mo Ghare’. Through this the Government will able to reach each household of Odisha, CM said. This step was being taken in view of upcoming General Elections.

The program will begin from Mayurbhanj, Balangir, Sundargarh, and Kalahandi districts.

Since everyone is bit by selfie bug these days, another programme titled ‘Selfie with CM’ was also launched. BJD will organise a medium where any commoner can take a selfie with CM.

The Biju Chatra Janata Dal leaders began today’s event by clicking selfie with the CM.

CM Naveen Patnaik said,”BJD has always been youth-centric. BJD has now planned to connect with youth through social media. It has taken a step to connect through FaceBook, Instagram and Twitter. Biju Chatra Janata Dal and BJD IT Cell were specially trained on how to increase the connectivity with youth through social media. In one way, Government’s scheme could be publicised and in another party will also bring an end to any false propaganda.”

It cannot be denied that social media has an extremely wide reach. BJD using it to publicise its programme is commendable step. And whether it would be beneficial to party or not will be known after General Election results will be out.
