Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police on Sunday arrested two youths accused of snatching mobile phones and money purses at various places in the capital city.
The arrestees have been identified as Biswaranjan Maharana (17) and Kanha Lenka (19).
According to reports, the duo had snatched the purse of a lady near Paramount Club while she was travelling with her daughter towards Kalpana from Badagada last evening. However, the snatchers were intercepted by the passersby who beat them black-and-blue before alerting the police.
The police have seized a revolver, six mobile phones, one purse with Rs 7000 in it and a motorcycle from their possession.
While Lenka has been forwarded to court, the minor arrestee has been produced before the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB).
