Bhubaneswar: In a major boost to Khandagiri police, a snatcher gang was busted on Saturday. They were known to operate on NH 16 of the capital city.
The accused have identified as Debiprasad Jena (20) aka Bubu from Kendrapada and staying in Bharatpur, Prabhudev Tripathy (23) aka Rinku from Balipatna Mishra saahi, Sanatan Behera (21) aka Sania from Pokhariput, Rajesh Behera (20) aka Chenga from Bolagada in Khurda, Dipak Sahoo (19) aka Dipu from Jatni Deulabasti and staying in Baramunda, and Chandan Kumar Das (24) from Balasore’s Simulia. The mastermind of this entire gang was Debiprasad Jena aka Bubu.
There are multiple cases lodged against this dreaded gang in Nayapalli, Chandrasekharpur, Mancheswar, and Sahid Nagar.
For last few days, the gang was active on NH 16 and in the areas under Khandagiri police limits. There have been multiple complaints of snatching.
It was reported that the gang used bullet motorcycles and the Police targeted such and also used available CCTV footages. Finally, the police were successful in nabbing the gang.
