Snana Yatra of Lord Jagannath in Puri to be held amid presence of devotees: Check Details

Puri: Snana Yatra, the annual holy bath of Lord Jagannath and siblings in Puri of Odisha will be held on June 14, 2022 on the occasion of Debasnana Purnima. This time the famous festival will be held amid presence of devotees. It is to be noted that in the last two years, physical presence of devotees had been restricted during Snana Yatra due to Covid 19 pandemic.

The Chhatisa Nijog meeting was held today at the Niladri Bhakta Nivas on the Badadanda chaired by the Chief Administrator of Srimandira Vir Bikram Yadav. In the meeting the Chhatisha Nijog niti subcommittee approved the schedule for different festivals related to Srimandira starting from Debasnana Purnima to Niladri Bije.

On June 14 the pahandi of the Lord will commence at 4 am in the morning and will be completed by 6 am. The ‘Jala Bije’ niti will be performed in between 9.30 am to 11.30 am while the Lords will be decorated with the elephant attire (Hati Besha) in between 12.30 pm to 2.30 pm.

This time the Snana Yatra will be held amid presence of devotees. Hence, more number of devotees is expected in the festival. In the morning on Snana Purnima, parimanika ticket arrangement will be there.

The devotees will be allowed to witness Snana Yatra from Badadanda, the grand road of Puri. Besides, restrictions have been put so that nobody can touch the idols. It was also discussed that during the ‘Jalalagi’ ritual and ‘Hati besha’ no servitors should stand in front of the idols so that devotees can have a hassle free darshan.
