Small-time contractor found dead in Dhenkanal village, murder suspected

Kamakhyanagar: Some unidentified miscreants killed a small-time contractor over suspected business rivalry in Anlabareni village under Tumusingha police limits in the district last night.

The deceased has been identified as Madhab Biswal.

Madhab, who left his home to attend a meeting at Tumusingha panchayat office in the afternoon didn’t return home till late in the night. His family members lodged a case of murder at Tumusingha Police Station today morning after his body was found lying on a village road under suspicious circumstances. Multiple injuries were found on his body.

Madhab’s son Jagannath informed, one Digambar Nayak of the village came to meet him in the afternoon in connection with a construction tender and indulged in a verbal spat. He also used foul language to his father, he added.

“My father left for panchayat office to attend a meeting over the issue, accompanied by four others from the village. While all of them returned till the evening, he didn’t. I suspect the hand of Digambar in the killing,” said Jagammath.

Meanwhile, police have rushed the body for postmortem to Anlabareni CHC and investigating into the incident.
