SJTA issues show-cause notices to servitors for rule violation on ‘Snana Purnima’

Puri: Taking a strong exception to the violation of rules by some servitors during ‘Snana Yatra’ this year, the Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has issues show-cause notices to a number of them today.

The concerned servitors have been told to submit their replies to the temple administration at its earliest.

SJTA swung into action after a number of complaints regarding violation of set norms for Snana Purnima rituals came to fore recently in one of which it was alleged that some servitors allowed Puri MLA Jayanta Kumar Sarangi to reach the Snana Mandapa.

Similarly, it was also complained that some servitors having no connection to Sanana Yatra rituals were seen loitering near the mandap on the auspicious day.

The SJTA which had prohibited the entry of unauthorised servitors to the Snana Mandap verified the available CCTV footage at the temple later and slapped the notices.
