Berhampur: Odisha police cracked a dacoity case and arrested six persons in this connection with the crime on Saturday. Over one lakh cash was recovered from the accused persons along with a car, bike and a pistol.
Report say, On Aug 14, when one Gupta Prasad Sahu along with his family members were enroute Tikiti from Damanjodi, some unknown persons intercepted a vehicle at Taptapani Ghat and looted valuables from them at gunpoint before fleeing.
Patapur Police began the investigation based on a complaint by Gupta Sahu. A team was formed to apprehend the accused persons. They were arrested from Berhampur and various villages under Nuagaon police limits, informed Aska SDPO Uma Shankar Singh.
