Six Coaches Of Duronto Express Sustain Damage After Accident In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: As many as six sleeper coaches of Howrah-Yeshvantapur Duronto Express sustained damages to under gear components like brake cylinder and brake pipes after it met with an accident near Rupsa railway station in the district today.

As per reports, the train remained stranded at Rupsa station for nearly three hours after one its coaches hit a gas tank kept near the track for repair work.

Railway officials said that the train was permitted to run with an escort party and with a restricted speed of 60 kmph.

“The journey time is likely to be extended with the restricted speed. We have also asked to the IRCTC to keep ready adequate meals for the convenience of the passengers due to the extended journey time,” said an official.
