Khordha: A sister was killed and brother sustained critical injuries in a road accident at Badapokharia Chhak under Nirakarpur police limits at Khordha district.
The deceased has been identified as Sagarika Padhi, a resident of Berhampur. She was a student of Kukudahandi College.
Sources said, both the brother-sister duo were travelling in a scooty when an unknown vehicle hit them at Badapokharia Chhak, where the sister died on the spot while brother sustained critical injuries.
They were enroute to Berhampur from Bhubaneswar.
The brother was immediately rescued and sent to Khordha medical for treatment.
Later, the national highway patrolling police reached the spot, seized the scooty and started a probe into the matter.
