Simlipal national park closed for tourists for two days, See details

Baripada: The famous Simlipal National park to remain closed for the tourists for these two days due to dense fog, rain and tourists safety.

The national park has been shut down on December 31, 2021 & January 1, 2022, informed Similipal National Park Deputy Director Sai Kiran D.N.

The move comes as a precautionary measure to prevent any untoward incident in the park especially for a large number of tourists who come to visit in the winter season.

The thick blanket of fog engulfing the national park could become dangerous for the travellers or safari, so it has been decided to shut down for the visitors during the day-time. Tourists staying overnight will only be allowed.

Spanned on an area of over 2,750 square kilometres, Similipal National Park which also comprises the Similipal Tiger Reserve (STR) in Mayurbhanj district is billed as Asia’s second-largest biosphere reserve.
