Similipal National Park reopens for tourists from today

Mayurbhanj: Similipal National Park in Mayurbhanj district reopened for tourists following Covid-19 protocols from today. The national park was closed since May 2021 due to a rise in Covid cases across the State.

The tourists can enter the national park from Baripada Pithabata and Jashipur Kaliani gates where they can avail themselves of the entry tickets from the booking counters available near both the entry gates. The tickets will be available from 6 am to 9 pm.

Reportedly, 35 vehicles will be allowed to pass through Jashipur while 25 vehicles through Baripada Pithabata. The authorities of Simlipal national park have made all necessary arrangements to make sure that all the Covid appropriate rules will be strictly followed by the tourists. The tourists will be allowed to visit the national park after verification of necessary details. The tour and travel guide system has been made mandatory for tourists.

The tourist can make night halts at camp cottages and bamboo cottages at Gudugudia, Jamuani, Ramathirtha, Kumari. They can book tickets to visit the national park online by logging into websites www.ecotourodisha.com, www.similipal.com, and odishatourism.gov.in.

The authorities also discouraged people from carrying any plastic during the visit to Simlipal National Park. Tourists will have the opportunity to witness some of the major waterfalls like Barehipani and Joranda, added reports. All tourists are required to leave the Joranda and Barehipani waterfalls before 3 pm while before 4 pm from Chahla falls.
