Sick passenger dies under treatment after IndiGo flight’s emergency landing at Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, a passenger who was travelling in an IndiGo flight from Kolkata to Bengaluru fell sick and died after being admitted to Capital Hospital here, after emergency landing of his flight at the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) today.

The deceased has been identified as Rajkumar Karmakar of Malda of West Bengal.

As per the report, Karmakar, who boarded the IndiGo 6E 822 flight from Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata at 10.10 am, reported sickness within few minutes of take-off. Authorities immediately diverted the flight to Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) following the incident and Karmakar was taken to Capital Hospital for treatment at around 11:15 am.

However, doctors at the hospital declared Karmakar dead a few minutes after treatment. The patient’s heart beat was weak, body was cold and pupils were not reacting to light during admission, they informed.
