SI Alleges Misbehaviour During Training At SOG Chandaka

Bhubaneswar: Tension prevailed at the campus of Special Operation Group (SOG) at Chandaka today after a sub-inspector (SI) of police complained of ill-treatment while undergoing training.

The SI identified as Biswajit Behera who is currently posted at Ghatagaon police station alleged that he was forced to do drills despite feeling unwell. “It was very hot in the morning and I was completely dehydrated. So I requested the trainer to allow me for taking rest. He did not listen to me so went to the higher officer. The higher officer, however, scolded me and misbehaved with me,” alleged Behera.

On the other hand, authorities denied the allegations and said that the SI was reluctant to participate in the training. “He had made similar allegations in 2013 while undergoing training for which he did not complete the training then. This time too he is making similar allegations deliberately to skip the training,” said an official.
