Jajpur: In a tragic incident a youth allegedly hacked his mother to death on Tuesday night in this district of Odisha. The incident took place under Badachana Police limits.
The deceased woman has been identified as Sushama Samal, the widow of Ananta Samal of Badachana. The accused has been identified as Ranjan Samal, the eldest son of the deceased.
As per reports, Ranjan returned home Tuesday night in inebriated state and asked for money to his mother. As the woman denied, he took out a bamboo and attacked the lady for which she sustained critical injury.
The other two sons then rushed their mother to the Badachana hospital but she was declared dead.
After getting information, Badachana Police reached the hospital, seized the body and sent it for autopsy. Police nabbed the culprit and brought him to the Police Station.
A case has been lodged in this connection while the accused has been arrested. Further investigation of the case is underway.
