Shocking! Woman Patient Tied To Bed In Odisha Govt Hospital

Balasore: In a shocking incident a 32-year-old woman patient was allegedly tied to the hospital bed at Balasore District Headquarters Hospital last night.

The woman identified as Habiba Anjum a resident of Pulbazar under Town police limits was rushed to the hospital for treatment of diarrhoea.

“After I reached the hospital authorities informed me about the unavailability of bed at the ward. They also forced me to sleep on the ground but I denied,” alleged the woman.

The woman also said that she had an argument over this with the hospital authorities. “Following the argument, few security guards and employees tied me to the bed of the hospital ward. I tried to resist them but my efforts went in vain,” alleged the woman. Sources said that the woman is the daughter of a retired police DSP.

On the other hand hospital, authorities denied the allegations and claimed that the woman was tied after she had a seizure. “We have to tie her to the bed in order to administer an injection,” claimed an employee of the government-run hospital.
