Sambalpur : Tension ran high at Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) in Odisha’s Burla after a Dentist performed dental surgery on 12 patients immediately after carrying out operation on an HIV+ve patient without necessary sterilisation.
According to reports, Asst Professor Dr Prasanta Swain performed dental surgery on a HIV+ve patient at around 10 AM on Monday. Soon after, he continued to perform dental surgery on as many as 12 patients with the same equipment used on the HIV+ve patient.
Meanwhile, the Dental surgery department of hospital has been shut down following the incident.
