Puri: Yet another shameful incident took place in the sacred city of Odisha, a man has allegedly misbehaved with his 2-year-old daughter and thrashed his wife in Goudabad Sahi under Town Police limits in Puri.
The accused father has been identified as Rajkumar Karmakar. Reportedly, the matter came to light after his wife took the matter to the police.
Rajkumar’s wife has alleged that he has been thrashing her and abuses using slang after getting drunk. She further alleged that he attempts misbehavior towards their minor daughter. “He kept doing such monstrous acts for a very long time but I resisted and expected him to change eventually. However, instead of changing his attitude, he did not hesitate to keep attempting such shameful acts against me and my daughter,” his wife said.
Meanwhile, another old lady also agreed to the allegation made by Rajkumar’s wife about the 2-year-old.
Based on the complaint, Town Police arrived at the spot on Monday night and took him to the police station. Rajkumar has been detained by the cops and an investigation has been initiated in this matter.
Notably, on January 23, a five-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a youth under the Puri Town Police Station limits. When the victim’s mother reached the rooftop hearing her daughter’s screams, the accused escaped from the spot and fled in a three-wheeler.
The victim was rushed to Puri District Headquarters Hospital for treatment. Later, she has been shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack after her condition deteriorated.
Till the last reports came in regarding her health condition, it was said that the victim is stable and will be discharged soon.
The Town police has registered a rape case against the accused under sections 376 of the IPC and 6 of the POCSO Act. A manhunt has been launched to nab the accused and four police teams are raiding different places to apprehend him.
