Severe Heat Wave Likely Till June 16 In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Odisha is likely to experience a severe and unbearable heatwave condition till June 16.

Reportedly, Titilagarh recorded 45°C on Friday followed by Balangir at 44.9°C, Boudh at 44.5 °C, Sambalpur at 44.4 °C, Sonepur at 44.3°C, and Jharsuguda at 44.2°C.

Adding to it, the arrival of the monsoon is uncertain in Odisha till now. The people of the State have been eagerly waiting for the monsoon rains as it will bring a drop in temperature.

Usually, the monsoon touches Odisha within 10-12 days after it arrives in Kerala. Hence, the people have been expecting that Odisha will experience rains around June 12.

Meanwhile, a yellow warning for thunderstorms with lightning in eight districts including Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Angul, Kandhamal, Boudh, Gajapati, Rayagada, and Koraput.
