We come across several successful people in our day to day life. Most of them keep their work before everything as they work with all their dedication by following the ‘work is worship’ principle. Stories of some of such people we either read in the newspaper or watch on television. At present video of one such person who is an IAS officer has gone viral on social media.

In the 2.9 minute viral video, IAS officer Saumya Pandey, who is the SDM of Modinagar is seen working from her office with her newborn girl child.

Saumya reportedly gave birth to a baby girl about 22 days ago but she did not take much rest and has now joined duty again. Along with her work in the office, she is also performing the duty of being a mother.

The responsibilities for her have increased due to Corona outbreak and the concern of the newborn is also matters a lot. However, Saumya Pandey is sitting in harmony between these two situations.

IAS officer Saumya Pandey is coming to her office with a little girl and discharging her duties. Saumya says that keeping in mind the coronavirus situation, she takes special care of herself as well as the child and she also sanitizes all the files repeatedly.

Saumya Pandey, originally a resident of Prayagraj, is a 2017 batch IAS officer.

Seeing Saumya’s loyalty towards work, people are also praising her highly. “Must be inspired by @GummallaSrijana! @IASassociation Saumya Pandey (SDM Modinagar) didnt availed 06 months maternity leave, joined back office with her infant daughter. #CoronaWarriors,” said a Twitter user.

    If you look from the infant’s side, it amounts to violation of human rights. The infant cannot speak. Had it the ability to speak, it would have expressed it sorrow at the mother not devoting full time to her care and attention. I think such gimmicks must be stopped by the government in the interest of child development.

    MATERNITY leaves are given for a reason. WORK from Home feature is given for a reason.
    Bringing both to office can set negative example to all employers against working women who genuinely require one or both benefits.
    Indians should avail benefits when they are getting one. Else, its just applies pressure for others unnecessarily.

    It’s violation of human rights. Atrocities are meted to new born child just to make a headline and to come into limelight. It is just a stunt to attaract the public and system. It is a show off honesty.
