Cuttack: As many as four persons have been arrested in connection with a series of loot cases in which about 120 grams of gold ornaments and Rs 1 lakh cash at Bidanasi in Cuttack.
The accused have been identified as Sk Muna (35), Sajid Khan (24), Prafulla Kumar Jena (48), and Gulam Kadir Khan (28).
Reportedly, the series loot was conducted at one of Subash Chandra Das’s house.
Das lodged a complaint with Bidansi Police Station on the evening of March 9. He noticed early that morning that the window of his house was broken and the iron grill has been removed. Thereafter, he found his almirah was left open, the ornaments and cash were also missing.
During the investigation, police visited the spot along with the scientific team and dog squad. The team retrieved the CCTV footage and circulated the CCTV footage in different districts to identify the criminals.
The photos of the criminals captured in the CCTV footage were widely circulated on social media as well as in different jails of neighbouring districts.
The team was successfully able to arrest the four looters. The gold and silver ornaments worth over Rs 8 lakh have been seized from their possession.
