Serial Killer Murders Three In 24 Hours In Odisha

Cuttack: Three murders in the last 24 hours have sparked panic among the residents of the Cuttack city. Police suspect involvement of a serial killer in all the three murders.

The body of a daily wager was found near Ranihat canal on Tuesday morning while two other people were found murdered in the city near OMP Square and Mangalabag this morning.

Police said that all the victims were daily wagers spending nights at isolated footpaths. “All the victims were assaulted with sharp-edged weapons and a blunt object. So far we have not found any eyewitnesses in all the cases. So we suspect the killer of targeting people sleeping on lonely footpaths,” said a police official.

Police commissioner Satyajit Mohanty along with other senior police officials visited both the crime spots. “We suspect the involvement of a psychopath in all three murders. We will urge various puja committees in the city to deploy their representatives to aware homeless people sleeping on the footpaths. We will also intensify night patrolling in the city,” said Mohanty.
