Separated conjoined twins Jaga & Balia to return to Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Separated conjoined twins of Odisha Jaga and Balia are set to return to the state next month.

The twins were joined in their head and were separated through a series of complex operations at AIIMS, Delhi in 2017. Surgery experts from Japan were called upon for this singular case.

The operation was successful. But the twins have been since then under observation and undergoing treatment.

The twins, aged four now, have however not seen the same development. While Jaga is healthy and ready for school, his twin Balia doesn’t seem to share the same fate. He is still bedridden and even has to be fed food.

Odisha Government had stood in solidarity with Jaga-Balia and his parents. The then health minister Pratap Jena had made complete arrangements for their treatment and stay.
