Jharsuguda: Former Congress leader and Jharsuguda MLA Naba Kishore Das today joined Biju Janata Dal (BJD) along with hundreds of supporters in the presence of CM Naveen Patnaik at a public meeting held at Amlipali field here.
Naveen welcomed Das into the Conch Party fold where the latter insisted that the winning spree of BJD will start in Western Odisha with his joining.
Earlier in the day, the senior Congress leader had resigned from the Odisha Legislative Assembly as an MLA by sending his resignation letter to the Speaker.
On January 16, Das had resigned from the primary membership of the Congress party by submitting his resignation letter to OPCC President Niranjan Patnaik. He had also mentioned in the letter that, his supporters want him to contest in the BJD ticket in the upcoming Assembly election for the development of Jharsuguda constituency.
