Body of Sr Journalist Navin Das’ son found floating in a pond in Bhubaneswar, murder suspected

Bhubaneswar: The body of a man was found mysteriously floating in Namrakani pond at Patrapada in the Capital city of Odisha today afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Manish Anurag, a resident of Bhubaneswar. He is the elder son of Journalist  Navin Das.

Sources say, some passers-by noticed a body floating in the pond and informed the police.

On being informed, the Tomando police team along with Bhubaneswar DCP Umashankar Dash and scientific team have reached the spot and started an investigation into the matter. The police have seized a purse, chappals from the spot.

We have recovered a youth’s body from the pond in Patrapada area. We had received a missing complaint at Infocity police station in the afternoon and investigating the matter, informed DCP Umashankar Dash.

The dead- body is being taken to AIIMS for post-mortem, added police.

The prima facie suggested that the youth was murdered and thrown into the pond.
