Boudh: In a tragic road mishap, a senior agriculture officer of Boudh district was killed and two of his staff sustained critical injury after a SUV carrying them met with an accident NH-56 near Radhanagar Chhak here last night.
The deceased has been identified as Manoranjan Mallik, Deputy Director Agriculture (DDA), Boudh. The injured duo has been identified as his peon and driver.
The mishap took place in the wee hours today while Mallik was returning home by boarding a Mahindra Bolero after a meeting in Boudh. Near Radhanagar Chhak, the driver of the vehicle lost control over the wheels due to some reason and the Bolero overturned.
While Mallik died on the spot, his peon and driver were rushed to Boudh District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) by local police, which reached the spot immediately.
Police have started a probe find out the cause of the overturn of the vehicle.
