Selfie Tragedy: College student’s body found from waterfall after 45 days

Keonjhar: In a tragic turn of the event, body of a college student who had slipped into the Bhimkund waterfall near Ghatagoan area here last December while trying to click a selfie was recovered today from Baitarani river.

The victim identified as Rohan Mishra of Nuapara Labour Colony in Cuttack remained missing for around 45 days after the mishap. A video featuring him being swept away by the strong water current of the waterfall also went viral on Internet soon after the incident.

The body of the deceased was seen floating in river Baitarani, around 1 kilometres away from the spot of the mishap this morning and fished out by fire personnel.

Notably, Rohan, son of Dipak Narayan Mishra, studied in +2 Classes in a junior college in Cuttack and took coaching in Vidyarthi Classes. On the day of the incident, he accompanied a group of at least 45 students and staff of the coaching centre for a picnic to Bhimkund in Ghatabalijori and slipped into Sana Kunda while trying to click a selfie.
