Subarnapur: A youth on Wednesday succumbed to injuries after falling off a giant Ferris wheel while taking a selfie during the Dhanu Yatra festival at S.Rampur under Dunguripali block in Odisha’s Subarnapur district.
The deceased has been identified as Jaga Barik, a resident of Telipali in S Rampur area in the district.
According to the sources, Jaga Barik and his friend Madha Chatria were clicking a selfie while riding on the Ferris wheel during Dhanu Jatra last night. However, the duo lost their balance and fell off the ride.
Both of them sustained critical injuries. They were initially rushed to a hospital in Denguripalli for treatment.
Later, Jaga was shifted to Veer Surendra Sai Medical College and Hospital in Burla after his health condition deteriorated. He died while undergoing treatment at the hospital this morning.
