Jajpur: Body of a girl who had slipped into Kharasrota river near Erabanka village under Bari block of Jajpur district on Sunday was recovered today.
Personnel of Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) fished out the body which was seen floating near Erada bridge by some locals this morning.
The deceased identified as Saita Begum of the same village was taking bath with her sister at Tanti Ghai of Kharasrota river on Sunday noon when the mishap took place. The sister duo fell into the water due to carelessness while clicking a selfie.
While some bystanders swung into action and saved the life of Saita’s sister, she remained missing despite a joint rescue operation by fire services personnel and ODRAF team later on the day of the incident.
